Block Time
Definition
Prepaid flight time purchased at a discounted rate. A student buys a block of hours (e.g., 10 or 20 hours) upfront and draws down the balance as they fly.
Why It Matters
Block time improves cash flow for the school and gives students a discount. The scheduling system needs to track the remaining balance, apply the correct rate, and handle expiration dates if applicable.
